This would cost half as much if the fade unions would take reasonable pay and work rules changed,The head of mta construction was quoted as saying that the boring machine digging the Sas has more than double the staffing as the same machine digging a similr tunnel in Spain due to staffing requirements pushed thru by unions. It's criminal. The mta is a loss in confidence in bind investors millisecond away for imploding under debt. The labor unions are banking on the state bailing them out. It won't happend. There will be massive service cuts and layoffs to the likes never seen before. I hope all mta employees understand this and tell tier labor leaders to help avoid this by supporting common sense work rule reforms such a opto, new job descriptions for station agents , bus integration etc . The day of recognize is closer then you think |
