I intend no disrespect to you, but I disagree. if they'd closed the line, it would likely NEVER have been replaced with anything. Similar promises were made with other closrues, and peoples' trust utterly betrayed. Two brief examples- the Manhattan portion of the Third and Second Ave Els was to be replaced with the SAS. Even in a best case sceanario, only a little bit of that line will ever be built- DECADES after the closures of the Els.

The Bronx portion of the # Ave El was to be replaced with rapid transit in the Harlem Line. We didn't get that, either. I have no reason to be confident that the Franklin Shuttle would be repalced with anything if it was closed.
