All the big cups and derbies willl draw a large crowd, but those are just specific events. Horse racing was big years ago because it was the only gambling in town legal. Casinos, lottery, scratch offs, have all helped horse racing's decline. And getting "$40,000" once a week or so once in a while is hardly something huge. A stadium can fill that up easily too for an event. |
