I remember being told by an instructor during refresher training, back in 1996 (!) that "the Colin Ferguson cars were destroyed by the LIRR". I always suspected this was the MTA's line to the victims' families, and that the cars in question were actually repaired, cleaned, and renumbered. This pic confirms that...thanks! |
