I recall during our "summit lunch" you said the decision to scrap the remaining R44s was done over the objections of the mechanical people who examined the fleet, no?I would have thought NYCT management would have learned from its own history (early problems with the R-44s forcing them to run prewar cars--some of which had already been sold to a scrap dealer, IIRC--longer than anticipated), similar to what's happening with the R32s today... |
