Since they now use 8 car (C) trains and would thus use 8 car R-46s, no more equipment would be needed for the (C). The 16 trains would go from 8 cars to 10 cars and that would require 32 additional cars for the . If the R-32s accelerated better than the R-46s then the signals would prevent them from catching up tot he Far Rockaway trains. But since there is no significant difference in acceleration or top end speed, it's a non-issue. |
