I figured this out on my own using the power of observation and common sense. Anyone could know what I know about this, for example, if they've ever been through a subway station undergoing renovation (such as 59 St-Columbus Circle), or even one undergoing new construction (such as the new headhouse at 96 St IRT [1 2 3]). In both of those cases, parts of the new or renovated sections were open before the projects were totally complete. New staircases were open before everything was totally complete. So like I said, if NYCT wanted to have the staircases open ASAP, then there's no reason they could have at least tried to do a phased construction approach so that the stairs could open earlier than other parts of the project. Broadway Lion stated that there is no way that this could be done. That is what I said FALSE about. There IS a way it could be done. But maybe NYCT didn't choose to take that route. But they have a choice. They could have done it that way if they wanted to, contrary to what Broadway Lion thinks, because he is almost always wrong. |
