Ahh but the Crime of 1967 was the largest and virtually decimated the Broadway BMT in the process. It also affected me personally since we lost the one seat ride to Coney Island. Changing trains with all the stuff we carried (ie beach blankets, umbrellas, coolers, etc) became too much trouble and we stopped going to Coney Island soon thereafter :( Then Astoria service began to deteriorate - the RR was the worst piece of $%^& to ever infest the Astoria Line... We went from the glorious T, QT and QB to the stinkin' RR :( |
