According to The JoeKorner.com website, the "D" started running to Church Avenue & Coney Island on October 30, 1954, with the "F" being cut back to Broadway-Lafayette on the same date. When the Board of Transportation issued its new map for the IND Division in 1940, it was the route services that I posted there as an original source.

However, the service guide description seen on the 1948 Hagstrom published guide and map in the URL, as well as being displayed in NYC Transit Museum car #1575, has a different version by saying that the "D" was running to Church Avenue, the "E" to Broadway-Lafayette and the "F" to Hudson Terminal. I will have to refer to Joseph Cunningham/Leonard DeHart's 1977 book on the IND to backcheck for another clarification...

1948 Route Information.
