The 747-8 Intercontinental does not have wingolets per se, but its wing cross-section varies wildly, especially that strange upswept portion near the tips. Flying across the Pacific in such an aircraft is only de rigeur in an extremis situation. |

I guess you won't get the redeye from LA to TPA as you're based out of EWR. |

I had a short layover in Tampa last week and my window at the Airport Marriott looked out at the football stadium which was lit up for the Pats - Bucs pre-season game. I flew the TAY.DADES3 RNAV to the 1L Localizer. Tampa was getting trashed by the quote mainstream media unquote for being a wasteland and the RNC for selecting it. |
