With 46 candidates, the usual suspects show their typical racism by focusing on the loss by Larry Elder. 45 other candidates lost but so did all of California. Now that newsom has his mandate, crime can grow unchecked. Homelessness and tent cities can continue to flourish and in the end, thousands of citizens and hundreds of businesses can flee the cancer of progressivness. |

There was a big drop off (45%) in the number of votes cast for the successor question. The number of No votes (5,840,283) cast in the first question exceeded the total number of votes cast for all 46 possible successors (5,057,345). Elder received 2,373,551 of these votes.That's a pretty decisive favorable vote for Newsom. He won against anybody and everybody combined. By your argument, as someone who also doesn't like in California I also don't have dog in the hunt, but I do. Newsome is representative of all the rest of the democrat governors that all needlessly shut down their states. I was so hoping that the voters of California would have woken up and recalled Newsome as governor to show hope that we can no longer tolerate tyrants, but apparently not. By you saying that you have dog in the hunt, means you are in fact content with Newsome as governor, and you have no problem with governors shutting down businesses. Dave I like you, respect you, consider you a friend, but quite frankly you have really surprised me with this. |

Theoretically the recall could have passed with just 50.1% voting to recall. That would mean that 49.9% wanted Newsom. Yet whoever got the most votes in the peanut gallery could have won even with much less than the 49.9% that Newsom got in this theoretical exercise. |
