But I wonder about that...transitioning is no small matter, and she did it squarely in the glare of the mass media. As ESPN rightly pointed out when defending their decision to give Caitlin the Arthur Ashe award, Bruce could have "chosen to go off into the sunset, as a historical athletic figure, and nobody would have been the wiser".Now, I'll concede that the entertainment industry knows no boundaries when it comes to ratings, ticket sales, or other sources of revenue, but I'd be VERY surprised if Caitlyn's transition is nothing more than a side show. If that is the case, she will have set trans acceptance back DECADES. Just sayin'... |

Not the transition, but the way it was used to promote the show as far as the ESPY awards go. That round of publicity was all about that, that's why I said what I did. But no, I have no issues with the transition and I wish Caitlyn well. That was a heroic move.What I don't like though was the blackmail behind it for the ESPY awards only to promote another reality show. I'm sure you know what I mean there, I hope. |

That your sex is not based on your physiology, but what your brain believes your sex to be. I tend to think that it is a mental disorder but I'm far from certain. I'm sure you know more than me on this topic as it's not something that concerns me.
