Ohhh...man....We go there for the sliders and salad bar. Their salad bar is fabulous....everything you want to load on a salad and nothing weird. I couldn't imagine having anything else there.

Their burgers were better before they "improved" them a year or two ago, but that said, they are better than most of the other chains.

Yes. Although the salad bar was also better a year or two ago before they "improved" it. While it's still good, the selection has gone down considerably.

I would rate the food at the most popular (NY area) chains as:

Ruby Tuesday
Chilis
Applebees
TGI Fridays.

Their burgers are okay (although used to be better).

The seafood is better than any of the other big bar/grill ny area chains..... It's not like getting seafood at a seafood restaurant, but it's better than the fish at Applebees, TGI Fridays or Chilis.

I love how people who complain the most about places are the same ones that never tried it. This is not to imply I think Olive Garden is some must go Italian food place....but it's kind of funny and meaningless when people that never tried the place criticize it.

Just because it's a chain doesn't imply the food is "bad". Again, this is not to imply I think it's some wonderful hardcore Italian restaurant. Far from it, but how can someone criticize something they never even ate?

I'm not saying it's bad but saying that you can make an assessment of the level of restaurant by the fact that it's a chain.

A chain is what my dad would call "a weekday kind of place".

hm, i've been disappointed in most places I go to now, on all food tiers. And even when I'm satisfied I feel like I could've been ok and spent less using the slow cooker.
I wonder if I'm turning into one of those people, or if it's really not worth going out.

I just like eating out because I like going out. But if you go the right nights to certain places, many have deals (especially mom and pop places), and sometimes it's cheaper than cooking yourself. If cooking a diner for two for example, by the time you get all the ingredients and then prepare it, sometimes for a couple dollars more (or less) you can go out and have a night. I guess it depends on what and where.
