Shellie. Britnee. Caylee. Ashlee.

LOL @ the trailer park versions of all these names.

Only name they can't fuck with is Amber.

It is racist.

It's funny seeing all these stupid names. Lacey is another one.

My friend names his daughters Kaylee and Ashley. This country is fucked.

They are great names if you want your daughter to be a stripper, porn actress, or cashier at Publix.

Those names are so childish and rural white.

I was thinking that at some point, whites got adventurous and Americanized names like Sean to Shawn then blacks africanized to Nushawn and Deshawn.

I like different names too, but those southern stripper names like Ashlee, Britnee, Caylee, Daffnee. I can't imagine addressing an adult by the name Ashlee.

I was born in 1966 and had many kids named "Eric" in my age group. It wasn't a very popular name 10 years before that, nor 10 years after.

I don't know where I'd find the stats, but I'm fairly certain that a hugely disproportionate number of the "Eric"'s in the US are between the age of 40 and 50.

Poking around the Social Security site a bit more, you can check out the popularity of a name over time.

Eric was the 93rd most popular boy's name in 1951. It steadily increased in popularity to 25th in 1966 and ultimately 13th in each year from 1973 to 1976. Since 1976 it has steadily become less popular, and was the 103rd most common boy name in 2011.
