Posted by JayZeeBMT on Thu May 31 07:53:10 2012 The latest batshit-crazy example of homophobia in America is this video of a five-year-old singing 'Ain't No Homos Gonna Make it To Heaven', in his church enthusiastically encouraged by the congregation. This is a disturbing vignette of brainwashing (let's face it, a five-year-old doesn't come up with bigotry like this on his own, albeit dressed up as "religious belief". Imagine this kid as a teenager, beating the life out of some gay kid--or discovering that he is gay himself, but God hates him). This episode of Let's Hate the Gays comes hard on the heels of Rev. Charles Worley's sermon advocating the placement of gays and lesbians behind electrified fences until they die, and boxer Manny Pacquaio's public, anti-gay remarks.Granted, countries like Iran and Saudi Arabia are still executing gays, but these examples of hatred here at home, are still frightening nonetheless. It's gonna be a long, crazy summer. |

You're supposed to as a parent to impose good beliefs not those that created hatred towards a group of people to which the child has no understand of or ever interacted with. Telling a child to hate gays without actually ever knowing a gay person to create a judgement is wrong. Same thing with racism, a good parent lets the child grow up and interact with people no matter what sexual preference or race or gender or religion a person is. |
