You really don't get it. Booker is NOT defending Rmoney. He is defending Newark. He is defending the concept of private capital, NOT what Willard did at Bain, all those layoffs, all those bankrupted companies.Newark's major employer is Prudential, an insurance company and they probably put him up to it. |

And boy, did he take a beating from it. He basically went on Twitter to BEG for forgiveness, started a hashtag (#IStandWithObama), which was immediately taken over by conservatives. Black man dares wander off the plantation, out come the whips. Why are Dems defending Romney on this? Simple, they need to fundraise from private venture capital just as much as the GOP. Remember, Obama received twice as much money from PVC than McCain did in 2008. |

He was defending private Capitol (what many on the left hate), stood up for Romney at Bain (and the bancruptcies were long after Romney left.At least there's some sensible Democrats around, this guy deserves something for standing up to Hussein (since you like using second names so much, I figured you wouldn't mind me using Obama's second name too). |

Willard *is* his first name. He was named after J Willard Marriott.Cory Booker was NOT standing up for Willard. He was decrying what he perceived as negativity from the Obama campaign. Fact is, these questions need to be asked. They are completely relevant. Willard needs to answer for the destructive behavior seen upon many companies Bain was involved with. A parallel event is happening in Europe. Here we see vulture-capitalism at work. Germany wants to militarily occupy Greece while they liquidate its assets. Many should fear that happening here, to states and localities. A Capitol is not private. Although I could see Willard trying to sell one. |

There's plenty more democrats JUST like him. You seem to forget that the economy does much better with more democrats and fewer republicans. Hopefully that will get corrected later this year so we can resume the upward movement like we did between 2009 and 2010. |

Mayor Booker clarified his comments on Sunday, as you can see in this YouTube video:He clarified that Romney is being less than honest and he's right. I wouldn't call that defending Romney. It's ok to attack Romney for his Bain experience, since his work there didn't create jobs like some like to think. We don't want to attack the whole investment capital industry but let's call a spade a spade and not act like Romney created a lot of jobs. your pal, Fred |

Fact is, when looked at overall, private equity as an industry has been a lackluster job creator. This is due to their own profit motives, where wrecking a company for liquidation is viewed equally with saving or expanding it. It's all a matter of what produces better profit for THEM, everyone else could just as easily be discarded. Lives don't fit well with statistics. What really angers me is that in liquidations, not only do these people lose their jobs, but their pensions are taken away, no severance no insurance, not even so much as job placement assistance, and surely not some temporary assistance to go to school to train for another job, You'd think they could consider a percentage point of profit to assist the people whose lives they ruined. |

There is that little matter of folks at Bain contributing $36,000 for Booker's first campaign.According to OpenSecrets.org, Bain employees have given Obama $4,750 toward his 2004 campaign, $136,430 toward his 2008 campaign, and $50,000 so far in 2012. Bain has given $294,800 to the Democratic Policy Committee in 2012 and $214,500 to the DNC in 2008. Bain is a "top contributor" to 17 members of the House and Senate, but Scott Brown is the only Republican among them. Steve Pagliuca, who lost the Democratic primary for Ted Kennedy's Senate seat to Martha Coakley, is a Managing Director of Bain Capital. |

Bain's got to be afraid of something. They are covering all their bases. They want to remain unfettered by scrutiny regardless of who wins. :=)Romney's plunge into elective politics has made people curious about what they do. :=) |
