We all know that while geographically on Long Island, Brooklyn is a totally different world. It's also geographically NYC.

I know. But since it's "technically" Long Island, it's an out for the Islanders.

Amazing to think that the contract didn't specify the definition of Long Island by county. Unreal.

The Islanders whole image and following is based on the fact that they are a LI team with "Long Island" defined the way NYers define it, that is Nassau and Suffolk and perhaps certain peripheral nabes in Queens.

They wouldn't work in Brooklyn. They could have worked in a retractable-roof, hockey standards Arthur Ashe Stadium.

They need to move to KC, SLC or Quebec.

If they don't stay in Nassau, there's no reason for them to stay in the area at all. The Brooklyn Islanders would be a flop. NYC is Rangers territory, they don't need two teams. And the Devils are already NY's close to second team. It's not like Football or baseball where two NYC teams could be supported. THe Islanders base is Long Island (ie Nassau Suffolk), not NYC.

Fine, we're not going to agree here. No point in dragging this out anymore...
