So there exists a set of outcomes where Obama beats Romney; that, combined with the remaining 23% of the sample who were presumably undecided, shows there's insufficient evidence at whatever the level of significance was for this poll that Romney beats Obama. And that's only among self-identified independents. The overall poll result was Romney 46%, Obama 46%. |

It shows a result you do not want.It gives any state with a less than 50 percent approval rating from 2011 Gallup polls to the presumptive Republican nominee (can't even say Romney, since the race hadn't been decided by then). That's ridiculous. |

The bottom line is all the graphs and polls at this point are meaningless. I just like to watch this particular lemming wiggle and squirm through results she doesn't like. If you make all the assumptions that statisticians tend to make (whether justified or not), one standard deviation in your expected results is apporximately 1 divided by the square root of the sample size. That's why the error for the overall result is 3% while that for the result on independents is 8%. |

I think that NC is in fact more progressive than SC. Or at least it used to be. Plus it probably has more educated yankees that moved down from the NE and midwest.Yup. The Carolinas have siphoned off some of the flow of retirees from the north to Florida. Also, you have the universities and tech workers in the triangle. |

It picked up 186 shots in Wyandanch; 112 in Huntington Station; 112 in Brentwood; and 91 in North Bellport. |

Apparently, AK, WY, and ID are so far with the red that Rove didn't even bother putting the percentage.Far be for me to disagree with Ham Rove; looks like even the best case scenario for him, Romney loses by a large degree, just like I predicted as soon as Obama was elected the first time. |
