A willing owner with a hand in Quebecois media and guaranteed profits from Day One, especially since Winnipeg proved that Canadians in small markets will pay top dollar for the NHL.

This, however, is the only plus with Quebec City. The downsides are much bigger.

* Moving a second US team to a small Canadian market might give the NHL a black eye in the US. Remember, Winnipeg only got a second try because their owners DEMANDED a team.
* Aligning Quebec City, especially with the upcoming CBA, would be a pain. There is no viable way to put a team there in the current alignment without pissing several key teams off.
* As it is, the Alberta teams have issues getting key free agents and after the jingoistic celebration ends Winnipeg will be in the same boat. Quebec will have the same issue magnified further because...
* A city that is 98% Francophone (the majority of that unilingual) is going to have a hard time getting non-Francophone North American players to play. The original Nordiques had this problem, remember the Eric Lindros debacle?
* In this day and age, would it be smart to have a team near-invisible from the media of the league's main language?
* Though the odds of this happening are very low, what if the Loonie goes below near-par again? The smaller Canadian franchises would be at risk again and Quebec would be at risk again.

Moving someone to Quebec City would only hurt the NHL in the long run. Heck, back in the WHA days people had doubts about the Nordiques being viable.

Most Nutmeggers think Malloy is nuts especially in the wake of the Komisarjevsky trial where death was a justified penalty. It's like he's going against the wants of his constituents.

Connecticut having the death penalty was/is one of its few things that gives it uniqueness from being a waystation for New York and Massachusetts. The Whalers were the same. What does CT have left to call its own, Stew Leonard's and UConn basketball?

ESPN?

ESPN does not have much content and they only get ratings when they air MNF or Yankees vs. Red Sox. Dish Network should dump ESPN just like they won't carry SNY and YES.

they rarely break the top 25

Our family's NBA habit, along with my mother's television watching habits are why we're still on satellite. FWIW, I could switch on my own, but given how much it costs to buy the shows online, it's not like one is saving that much money, and OTA television signals are crap out here.

Take it up with the NFL, their policy is that all away games have to be televised on broadcast TV in the away teams market. And if sold out by the 72 hour deadline, all home games have to be televised. True that the NFL seems to be unique among the major sports in this regard.

Teams should be allowed to cover unsold sections with black tarp so viewers can't see empty seats, which the NFL wants to avoid.

I'm sure there are Ranger fans on LI how do they get to MSG? I would suppose that many do take the train. Barclays is closer. In addition to the 9 subway lines and the LIRR, the A,C,F, & G are not too far away. Maybe a parking facility could be built in Jamaica to allow LI fans to drive to Jamaica and then hop on the LIRR to see the Nets or Islanders

Bruce Ratner could have easily built a new stadium in Nassau for the Nets & Islanders. He chose the Atlantic Terminal area for the transit options.

In Jacksonville they close of sections of their stadium and don't even try to sell the seats in order to avoid blackouts. Under NFL rules, they have to block off the same seats all season (including the playoffs) and can't then decide to sell them if the game becomes popular and sells out.

He chose the Atlantic Terminal area because that's what he wanted to develop. He only bought the team to build the arena, not the other way around.
