We'll see. I suspect he'll win, but I'm not as sure about that.

Anyone want to fill in brackets for who takes which state? I'll even supply the blank map:

Start with the 2004 map.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_presidential_election,_2004

If it's close, very few states will flip from that map. Obama could get all the blue states on that map, plus NM, IA, and CO, and still lose. But any states beyond that (e.g., OH, VA, or FL), and he wins.

Women are 53% of the voting public. Like it or not, that's the fact. What the ratios may naturally be is insignificant, it's who actually goes to actually vote that matters.

DUH. And I said that. You claimed woman have an advantage. They don't in the 16 (yes I know it would mean 18 but the statistic starts at 16) to 65 year olds it's 1 man for every woman. Older than 65 women get a clear advantage as they live longer than men, but the older ones are not going to care about this manufactured issue the HARD leftists such as yourself are trying to make out of this as much as younger ones, where they are 1 for 1.

What does Voter ID have to do with this? And for bingbong's USLAN diversion from the issues, I already made it quite clear in my post that the under 16 year olds are irrelevant. The statistic starts at 16-65. And I said that. The point was that between 16-65 it's one man for each one woman. That would include 18-65 OBVIOUSLY. So much for your nonsensical diversions.

Yup. And that support grows as younger Latinos become eligible to vote. They strongly oppose Republicans and white people in general and see themselves as "reconquistas".

Blacks will show up in reliable numbers too.

Blacks reliable? I think even Obama knows that it's going to take something big to stir them up. We already have the "pill" controversy for women. In order to rile up blacks again, Obama will need something recent to convince them that they must come out to vote against racism. That's how you get blacks to come out. Make them think they're "sticking it to whitey" when they pull the lever for Obama.

Partly, yes. The swing states are swing states because the White population in those states tend to be conservative, and it is a contest between the conservative Whites and minorities + liberal Whites. The states where the White population is liberal are always solid blue. IA, CO, & OH are probably the few swing states that swing primarily because of how each state's Whites vote, and not so much because of their minorities.

The President will likely win Ohio as several pieces of legislation that are highly unpopular there, yet supported by the republicans (union busting in a state that's almost majority union) are set to be overturned (one for the second time) by referendum in November. Contraceptives typically require a prescription. That requires a doctor's visit. Office visits are generally covered for basic healthcare. This is basic healthcare. These visits also function for cancer screenings, which is typically covered healthcare. So they should be paid for through insurance. Pills, etc are also prescription. Why should they be treated any differently than anything else on the formulary? They cover Viagra on the formulary.

You're a misogynist if you think otherwise. Conscience decisions belong with the individual consumers of healthcare. It is not the place of an employer to interfere with employees obtaining basic healthcare.

Stocks Could Still Move 9% Higher This Year: Katie Stockton
By Jeff Macke | Breakout 7 hours ago

"Let your winners run."
Four little word summing up one of the greatest challenges in investing. This has been particularly true during the 2012 rally which has done nothing but gain steam in either spite of, or because of, the drumbeat of brutal fundamental news.
Which is one of the reasons it's worthwhile to pay attention to technicals. A graph cares not about your fears, woes and nascent obsession with German Chancellor Angela Merkel.

Katie Stockton, chief market technician with MKM Partners, says the S&P 500's ability to move over 1,370 "decisively" last week has set the stage for a move at least to 1,440 and perhaps even as high as 1,525 by year end. The call comes with the one caveat that it's "pending confirmation of a strong close this week."
Confirmation means the tape doesn't close back below the old resistance, which is now support. Close below there and we're back in the chopping to and fro between 1,340 and 1,370. Only a close below that 1,340 line would represent the first "chink the armor" for the rally as far as Stockton sees it.
If you do want to trim some profits here, and I can't say that I blame you, the Technician suggests the risk-on trade is still in play for a place to put new money. "The defensive sector is the one that will under perform for this year," she says.

An overbought market can stay that way for much longer than those shorting it tend to believe. You can scoff, argue against it, or call it names but "the right side of the market is to be bullish right now," notes Stockton; at least until we break below 1,340. That's her view and she's sticking to it.
We want to know what your view is. Are you letting gains run, taking it off the table or buying puts at every opportunity?

Economically, we are still treated as second-rate citizens. We still don't earn dollar for dollar the same as men. Yet they expect us to pay out of pocket for the one thing that enables economic participation.... contraceptives.
