Beloeve it or not, bus service in and around St. Albans (Q2, Q3, Q4, Q4L, Q77, Q83, Q83L, Q84, X64) has actually improved since that thread, and judging by the packed late-night buses, there's demand for even more service around the clock. Mind you, most of St. Albans looks just like Nassau County, about a mile east of my house. It's very suburban in character, residential, single- and two-family homes, lawns, LOTS of cars, and even LIRR service. With all that, people still want their public transport. |

Was it mostly black in the 70's as well? I remember visiting family somewhere near JFK back in the mid-70's and that planes would fly overhead, but maybe not directly overhead. It was mostly, if not entirely single family homes. I thought that the homes were relatively modern at the time, but that was almost 40 years ago. I could never remember exactly where it was. |
