When I lived in Alaska for a short, time everybody piled into Canada. It was the only way to get to the lower 48 unless you had a plane. We even SHOPPED in Canada ... oh t3h horrorz. |

Oh dear:I forgot to warn you to not bother with this lame narrative either The Palins, as Americans, did not qualify for any Canadian medical coverage in 1961. The system which would have qualified them was enacted in....1984. They paid for their healthcare, out of their wallets. Don't trust a righty blog? Here's a Libertarian source. They are no friends of Palin. And even if they did pay, why did they feel compelled to take a 4-HOUR TRAIN RIDE to Whitehorse for medical care? Why wasn't US care good enough? It was easier to get to than any American medical establishment at the time.  |

Remember when she was first announced as McCain's VP pick and the liberal media took a caravan to dig up dirt on her as fast as they could (as parodied on SNL)? One of the things that came up were these interviews with this woman from Wasilla (council member I think) that claimed that Palin frequently referred to Obama as "Sambo". |
