The most educated states vote Democratic and the least vote Republican. Looking at the percentage of the population aged 25 or over with a bachelor's degree or better, the only two states with such level greater than average which voted for McCain in 2008 were Kansas and Utah, which were 18th and 19th respectively (DC is included, it is #1)
