LOL. Yeah, we spoke about this in another thread months ago when I hooked my television up to a converter box just for OTA digital. You said you were enjoying the channel. I've noticed that in most markets, ThisTV is being picked up by cable systems, even though "Must carry" does not require it. Smart marketing move on the part of cable companies.

You have Direct, so I guess you watch on another television without satellite.

When we moved out here years ago, we had Cablevision (Dolans) and it was good for cable at the time. About a year later, they sold the system to TimeWeenie and it went in the shitter immediately. Since DirecTV had come to the area selling boxes in their early days, we were one of their first subscribers in this area and we went with two receivers from them. And since the house was fully wired for cable with cable in every room (the previous owner put in his own cabling) and I worked in the television industry, I went and hooked up a rack of television equipment and set up 8 UHF modulators into the house wiring. Two DTV receivers on channels 16 and 20 fed the entire house. Put two DVD players on channels 22 and 24, two VCR's on 14 and 26, and later added a computer video server on channel 18 and my two government cheeseboxes on 28 and 30.

All of the equipment is mounted in three racks down in the basement, and each room has an IR to RF transmitter and a receiver for that down in front of the racks which permit the remote controls being used with any set, allowing you to pick your source by channel on the sets and then tune or select from any of the devices in the rack from wherever you are in the house. Back when analog was available, the signals from the antenna were fed into the system on their existing channels, so you could pick and choose anything you wanted anywhere.

VERY flexible arrangement. :)

That's usually my cue that the night's over. Heh. So many of them are laughable all these years down the road, but remarkably well done for their day. Some of the movies they run also show how cheesy MGM used to be. Even more amazing though, a lot of things they're running now were on Showtime not even months ago. Shows ya what Showtime is worth. BTW: "Sea Hunt" ... heh. And Patty Duke too ... amazing what passed for teevee back in the 60's. NYC used to have a channel 9 that ran a lot of movies and old crap ... ThisTV definitely has a good bit of that late at night, and yet they run some really good stuff too. Amazing that a "free" channel has so much given what people are expected to pay for these days ...

You are proud of something that you did nothing to achieve?
Do you look in the mirror and think back at the succcessful effort that you put into your pigmentation?

Natural disasters and other tragedies don't necessarily contradict the supposition that God is good

Remember the premises. Monotheism + all good + all powerful + all knowing. If you deny one or more of the premises, the problem unravels. The problem arises when you keep the premises and then have to explain the presence of extreme suffering in the world. You seem to be giving up the all good premise. That's fine, but it's not answering the problem of evil puzzle. You also seem to be watering down the monotheism premise with Satan. Again, that's fine, but not an answer to the puzzle.
