Agreed, it's unfortunate about that incident at that particular McD's. But overall the ones I've been to in Manhattan, Brooklyn, and NJ have all been fine [no incidents: attitude, short changing, etc.]I wouldn't hate all McDonalds just because of one bad experience. |

I don't think that most cooks give a shit. They most likely either see that they made a mistake or think that the customer is an idiot. Either way they don't take it personally. Yeah maybe they will do something to your food, but they can do that before you complain. I think that doesn't happen a tenth as often as people talk about it. The only way to avoid it is to eat at home. |

But 50 cents may not seem like a lot but how many are being ripped off everyday ? That could be going in the managers pocket. Even 10 OJ's on her shift a day times 20 working days a month comes to $100 bucks a month or $1200 A year. Nice! |

I agree, I understand it's the principle, but for .50 cents it seems like a lot of hassle to make such a big deal about it. It's not worth raising blood pressures for. |

East Tremont off Devoe, White Plans Road and 241st, and the one by the 149 Street - Grand Concourse station. Each one staffed by kids who clearly didn't want to be there. On the other hand, my experiences in most other McDonald's around the city are a lot more positive. |

It's amazing what a good memory most waiter/waitresses and bartenders have. You would think that with all the people they serve, they wouldn't remember you....but they DO. And they remember if you are a good tipper or not. And this is even at the chains. there's a chain restaurant my friends and I go to very seldomly....like perhaps once every two months or so....but the bartender even knows what brand beer we usually get, and even the food we usually order..... And because we tip well, that usually means a free round here and there. I have noticed this at many places though.... I assume they just as quick remember the "bad" tippers too. Don't piss off the staff of even places you go to very infrequently....they remember! |

Thanks for the responses, guess what??? This is actually the 3rd such incident I recorded. Last year, I was nearly overcharged in the same manner (price actually higher than posted menu price), here is the letter and the BOG free sandwich card, sorry for the blurry pictures:![]() ![]() The reason why I still have the card is that I tried redeeming it at a McDonalds on the corner of Parkside and Ocean Aves in Brooklyn, they would only take the card if I bought a large sandwich - - even though NO PURCHASE was required. Isn't that something???? |

If the manager at the McDonalds on the corner of Parkside and Ocean Aves in Brooklyn knows about the incident at Webster and Clay Aves in the Bronx (next to Claremont Park), who knows what will be added to the Shamrock Shake besides the green food coloring and/or the mint flavoring. |
