Not sure why my input is more important than anyone else's on this. I only complained about a fried chicken joint on Jamaica and 104, and now I'm the fried chicken guru of Subchat? Blah.Anyway, it's obvious that everyone interviewed was black. Does this mean that every customer at this Popeye's in Rochester is black? Did you see all the other cars driving in, then driving away upon finding out there was no chicken? I'm sure there had to be some white customers who could've been interviewed. The tv station obviously interviewed blacks only, in order to get a cheap laugh out of viewers at home. |

The summer after high school graduation I was working at the combined Geno's/KFC off Route 4 in Hackensack hard by Bergen Tech. During Thursday, Friday, and Saturday evenings there was always a rush and I'd fall behind the orders and I mean way, way behind. The chicken was easy but I got overwhelmed by the hamburger orders. Those poor people who ordered a plain hamburger with nothing on it might get one with lettuce and cheese and Thousand Islands dressing and those lost souls who wanted a Big Mac might get one but just as often might get a dry hamburger with a pickle on it. It was ridiculous. I remember one time things were going "south in a hurry" and people were coming back into the store complaining. Rocco the Manager finally came out of the office in his shirt and tie and he was like "WTF are you guys doing?" It was a disaster and still haunts me to this day. |

I remembered one being in Queens from posts years ago.There are two on the blue line in the LA area. One at Willow and one at San Pedro station and I've eaten at both of those. There is also one not too far from the blue line in South LA and I've eaten there too. My experience is that their chicken is tasty, but much too greasy for me to eat. I haven't eaten it in over a year. |

I could see sweat dripping off him when he put my food in the to go container. I'm very picky about such things and will probably never go back. |

When I lived in Gardena, there was one on Rosecrans at Denker?, but it closed well before I left in 1998. I sometimes went to the one near USC, on Figueroa at Adams. When my Auto Club membership was due, I would walk up to the branch oat Adams/Fig to pay it, the head over to the Popeye's. That one was still open when I left, but who knows if it still is today. |
