Lake America

Posted by cortelyounext on Wed Aug 26 17:39:33 2026

We The People, under the auspices or authorization one of those words of The Honorable President Donald J. Trump, are going to rename Lake Ontario to Lake America, something that should have been done back in 1641 when that place was first named Ontario even though America was named in 1507 by some guy from Italy I think. The fact America was not yet a country is beside the point.

Now I am going to recommend that Ontario, California follow suit and also that KONT be renamed America International Airport. That place holds a special place in my heart since I once took an Airbus into KLAX and flew another one out of KONT the following day, a rare scheduling anomaly. The Santa Ana winds were howling out of the east and the pilots were reporting moderate to severe turbulence all the way up to 14,000' before it let up. I was terrified and helpless, holding onto my assigned seat at 1L with both hands, facing backward and staring straight ahead at the bulkhead with the passengers screaming. The Captain called me and asked if I was alright so I made an "All CALL" and said I'd get back to him. I called back and told him all of us air hostesses and passengers were good which was a lie and the cabin appeared quote structurally sound close quote which might have been a lie. He asked if there was anything they could do for us and I was like, huh? I mean, what can you possibly do at that point? Anyway, he told me it was the only time he, and for that matter the FO, looked out the window hoping and praying the engines would stay attached to the wing. Of course, I could hear those useless idiots laughing the whole time. Anyway, on the way to KIAH, I accomplished my service with a smile as if nothing happened which, come to think of it, nothing had.

Done and done. Thank you, President Trump, for the courage to make this long overdue and necessary change. I hope that you, on advice of council or whoever from your staff is reading this thread, will carefully consider my thoughts and recommendations as outlined in the attached link. Then, and only then, can you take appropriate action as only you can through Executive Decree and Order. I think I can talk on behalf of all of us on these boards when I offer our heartfelt gratitude and congratulations for your fearlessness in placing Canada back where they belong. We are indebted to you and we thank you, Mr. President. (OTChat Band: Please strike up "Ruffles and Flourishes" and "Hail to the Chief")

We already have a Gulf of America, why not Lake New York, or Lake Trump.

Since Canada is in America, i see no real issue but Lake New York would seem more appropriate.

From Statue 61-456, with respect to the Board of Geographic Names.

Sec. 3. The Board, subject to the approval of the Secretary, shall
formulate principles, policies, and procedures to be followed with reference to both domestic and foreign geographic names; and shall decide
the standard names and their orthography for official use. The principles, policies, and procedures formulated hereunder shall be designed
to serve the interests of the Federal Government and the general public,
to enlist the effective cooperation of the Federal departments and
agencies most concerned, and to give full consideration to the specific
interests of particular Federal and State agencies.

I wonder if the minutes of the Board meeting that made this change discussed whether this name change was in the interest of the general public.

Any outrage by the Russian people would have been met by Stalin's firing squads. Stalin was responsible for about 20 million deaths. He was the real butcher of the 20th century.

You have that last one backwards.

The earlier name of Stalingrad/Volgograd was Tsaritsin.

And St. Petersburg was renamed Petrograd before the revolution because of WWI.

And I strongly suspect the Council followed the procedures required for changing street names. Otherwise someone would have sued to block the name change.

I'm sure that IF the Board of Geographic Names did not follow proper procedures someone will sue as well.

And "New Mexico," if its name were ever changed, should be "Old America," since New Mexico is actually the second state to be settled by Europeans, after Florida and before Virginia.

Posted on Truth Social and it's about time. Now there can finally be an Executive Order to officially change the names of all the colleges and universities that play football in New America to the rightful names, such as New America Highlands out of the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference and that renegade program over at New America State, something I have advocated to be undertaken for years. That it took so long is like inexplicable but I am forever grateful for and indebted to a true American hero and patriot who got it done against all odds. Thank you, Mr. President!

Correct me if I'm wrong but wasn't that state part of the "Gadsden Purchase" to pound out the Southwest of the USA.

As an 18-year-old my family and my uncle's family visited Carlsbad Caverns and White Sands NM.

Only southern NM was part of the Gadsden Purchase. Most of the state was part of the Mexican Cession under the earlier Treaty of Guadeloupe-Hidalgo ending the Mexican War.

I have mixed feelings about this.

First, this makes more sense. Amazing how dumb Obama was not to change the name.

OTOH, I like that the American New Mexico is better than Old Mexico. And that's a good statement too.

So it's really a win-win either way.
