Raw Milk

Posted by cortelyounext on Sun Jun 14 10:23:30 2026

Back in April, I wrote the following:

I am working on a list of handles that encourage the consumption of raw milk and it should not take long because it will not be long.

So like I got sidetracked due to quote circumstances beyond my control close quote but I am still working on the aforementioned list and will release it at a time of my choosing.

Back in April, LuchAAA responded:

You should be on that List. There are so many benefits to drinking raw milk. I think you'd improve your aviation skills if you drank raw milk...

I refuse to drink it regardless of the so-called benefits. This Mother Jones article, written by the Honorable Anna Merlan, tells you all you need to know as to my thought process in coming to this informed decision. For all you haters and skeptics out there, prior to joining Mother Jones, the author also worked for the Vs - Vice, Vanity Fair, and the Village Voice - so they balanced reporting cannot be called into question.

Why would you refuse to drink raw milk? I have done so many times. Although you are 5'11, weighing 191, you really need to watch your weight because you travel too much.

As a resident of upstate New York, you should find a local farmer to purchase raw milk from. It's legal if you go directly to the farm.

VAT-pasteurized milk that isn't homogenized is the next best thing to raw milk. It's widely available from companies like Family Farmstead or smaller companies like Ithaca Milk.

Now let's talk about the McAfee family. I'm pretty sure they're Adventists. Adventists deserve their own thread. Anyway, look at the McAfee's names.

Mark
Aaron
Kaleigh
Josh

Those are the first names of the corporate leaders of their Raw Farm.

I looked this writer up and I want in on whatever agent she uses.

She thinks the republicans are going to STEAL the midterms. I thought you can't say that.

Well, close enough. The real threat is your diet not turbulence. This is why you should drink raw milk.

People like Olog and Fisk Ave Jim live in a raw milk friendly state and should take advantage.

Here's a less rosy article describing the raw milk movement.

Thanks for posting this.

She points out that weekly sales rose 65%. Honestly I think sales would be higher if more states allowed raw milk retail sales. In NYC it's extremely hard to find unless you go to the Union Square Farmers's market and pay $12 or more for a half-gallon.

So the outbreaks specific strain of E. Coli wasn't found in McAfee's products. In the Martin case, it looks like McAfee wasn't responsible.

Interesting that raw milk can't be sold interstate like pasteurized. This is why health food stores in places along the PA-NJ border do great business selling raw milk. NJ residents have to cross the border.

It's also interesting because I've had Kalona Milk from Iowa. It's Amish milk that is VAT pasteurized. I didn't know it traveled that far.

I've had raw milk many times. I didn't realize it would become so political but food is becoming partisan.

I forgot to say, all this fighting over a product that is out of the price range people can afford or are willing to pay for a food that they think is healthy (i.e, organic, grass-fed, raw milk)
