Honestly I think sales would be higher if more states allowed raw milk retail sales. In NYC it's extremely hard to find unless you go to the Union Square Farmers's market and pay $12 or more for a half-gallon. So the outbreaks specific strain of E. Coli wasn't found in McAfee's products. In the Martin case, it looks like McAfee wasn't responsible. Interesting that raw milk can't be sold interstate like pasteurized. This is why health food stores in places along the PA-NJ border do great business selling raw milk. NJ residents have to cross the border. It's also interesting because I've had Kalona Milk from Iowa. It's Amish milk that is VAT pasteurized. I didn't know it traveled that far. I've had raw milk many times. I didn't realize it would become so political but food is becoming partisan. |
