On This Date, 1965

Posted by Fisk Ave Jim on Sun Apr 7 12:33:47 2019

April 1965 -

North Vietnam’s President Ho Chi Minh rejects President Johnson’s offer of unconditional peace talks and described Mr. Johnson’s Vietnamese policies as “the daydream of a madman.”

Ho was quoted - “We love peace, but we are not afraid of
war. We will drive out the invading U.S. marauders to defend our country.”

And thats exactly what happened.

Do you know we came within a cunt hair of winning? I only found that out a few years ago. If we would have stayed in the conflict for just a couple of more months, North Vietnam was ready to surrender

One of my favorite theories is that LBJ got us involved in Vietnam to
take our minds off of the JFK shooting and Cuban involvement. In exchange for sending our troops literally halfway around the world, we allowed Cuba a free hand in Latin America and Africa, particularly Angola. Why didn't LBJ keep the US troops here to fight Cuban expansionism?

“When we saw pictures of the American helicopters over their embassy, we just assumed they were bringing in reinforcements and figured the game was up,” Giap laughed. “Even after the South Vietnamese surrendered, we thought it was some kind of trick and fled to the hills for a month until we found out we’d actually overrun the country.”

Gaslighting.

The South Vietnamese Army was being consistently defeated in the last year. Once the US decided to withdraw its forces and leave it in the hands of the South, the war didn't go well.

"...take our minds off of the JFK shooting..."
The JFK shooting was a Mafia hit. Oswald was the fall guy & Ruby was the connected one to silence Oswald. It was Bobby who went after the mob so the death sentence went to the "head of the snake" simply put.
LBJ's esclation of the Viet Nam war had nothing to do with the JFK takeout, Cuban expansionism in Latin America or Angola.

I think people go for conspiracy theories on the JFK assassination because it's hard to believe that a lone loser like Lee Harvey Oswald could kill a President. I think it was Oswald and only Oswald.

Check out "I Heard You Paint Houses" By Charles Brandt. Briefly, its the story of Frank "The Irishman" Sheeran on the details of how he killed Jimmy Hoffa. It also outlines a very plausable explanation of how the Mafia plotted, arranged & execuited JFK's assination. All spelled out by a man on the inside, Frank Sheeran.
Proof? No, but the way its outlined & the reasoning behind the hit, it does make sense.
But in reality, we may never know.

On the contrary. They presented plenty of evidence in court that has never been refuted.

The evidence about vaccines causing autism was ALL badly put together to begin with, and probably heavily faked, and that has been proved.

In contrast, even if some of the evidence against OJ was faked, there was still plenty against him, as shown by the civil trial.

OK, so one guy tells a plausible story of how the Mafia arranged to have Kennedy killed. But various people have told other plausible stories:

Castro did it
Cuban exiles did it
LBJ did it
The CIA did it
Clay Shaw did it
Israel did it

At most one of these can be correct, and quite likely none are. What all the stories lack is hard evidence.

Ho was quoted - “We love peace, but we are not afraid of war. We will drive out the invading U.S. marauders to defend our country.”

And that's exactly what happened.
Why are you denying what you said? Claiming Ho's words to be "exactly what happened" means you claim that our boys were "invading … marauders" and that the commies pushed us out by force.

Never mind calling Ho "president" when he was a dictator.

Reporting facts does not indicate support or opposition of what happened. You're shooting the messenger.

That said, you should really get a life. Theres more going on in this world than sitting at a keyboard dredging up 7 year old posts and using that to vent your warped interpretation of what was said.

But I'm guilty to. Guilty of taking the bait.
