Since our last update, there have been just 2 more executions in the United States.On March 11, Cedrick Ricks, a black male was executed in Texas via lethal injection for the murder of a Latin male and latin female On March 17, Michael King, a white male was executed in Florida via lethal injection for the murder of a white female. Still to come in March James Duckett'a execution in Florida on March 31st was indefinately postponed Upcoming: On April 21 Chadwick Willacy is scheduled to die in Florida On Aprin 30 James Broadnax is scheduled to be executed in Texas. On April 30 Jamed Hitchcock is scheduled to be executed in Florida. 4 more executions scheduled for May as of 4/15 Christa Pike is still scheduled to die on Sept. 30. Next update will be on or about May 15 |

Texas Florida and Alabama seem the most prolific. The execution of James Duckett was postponed due to 2 court actions. The death warrant is currently listed as inactive but has not been recinded. |

Death Warrants in Ohio will not be carried out. Governor DeWine is issuing these reprieves due to ongoing problems involving the willingness of pharmaceutical suppliers to provide drugs to the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction (DRC), pursuant to DRC protocol, without endangering other Ohioans. Four executions scheduled in Ohio for June (1), July (2), and August (1) have been rescheduled pending further actions by the state legislature.For the month of April 3 executions were scheduled and all were carried out as scheduled. On April 21 Chadwick Willacy was executed in Florida On April 30 James Broadnax was executed in Texas. On April 30 Jamed Hitchcock was executed in Florida. For the month of May there are 5 executions scheduled to be carried out. May 14 Raymond Johnson in Oklahoma May 14 Edward Busby in Texas May 20 Leroy McGill in Arizona May 21 Tony Carruthers in Tennasee May 21 Richard Knight in Florida Christa Pike is still scheduled to die in Tennesee on Sept. 30th Next Update will be on or about May 31 |

One of the things that intrigued me about this subject was exactly that. Some lillers spend 15-30 years in prison and are then freed while others spend up to 30 years on death row before execution. As to the Ohio situation, I'm not even clear on the issue. |
