For the month of May, there were 5 executions scheduled. 4 were carried out as scheduled.On May 14, Raymond Johnson was executed in Oklahoma the 2nd for that state this year. On May 14, Edward Busby was executed in Texas which was Texas' 4th this year. On May 20, Leroy McGill was executed in Arizona the first execution in the state this year. On May 21, Richard Knight was executed in Florida - the 7th execution there. On May 21, Tony Carruthers received a temporary reprieve when his execution was botched in Tennessee. There are 3 executions scheduled in June with 2 others given peprieves with both executions rescheduled for 2029. Christa Pike's death warrant is still active and scheduled for September 30th in Tennesee. Of some note, there are 45 women on death row as of today with 18 in the state of California, alone.
