Nor does it have to do with legal immigration quotas.Where did I say it did? I.C.E. is anout an 83 year old American being thrown to the subway tracks and murdered. . . So you don't give a shit about the people being murdered by US citizens? And that had nothing to do with ICE either as the guy had been deported before and kept coming back. Trump was the one in whose administration ICE started wearing fatigues and masks, which also have nothing to do with what the agency was created for. |

But only an asshole might see no difference between random domestic violent crime and additional violent crime committed by illegal immigrants and invaders. Are you that asshole? |

Anyone here illegally that gets caught and has a clean record, a job (and pays taxes) , family and some degree of education with a marketable skill should be able to cut the line and given a fast track to citizenship. All this on a case by case basis. Anyone with less should be shown the door. |

New law would bar N.Y. police from working with ICE on civil enforcementI just Googled "Hochul ICE". You can also replace "Hochul" with any famous Democratic state/local politician, like Mamdani, Sherrill, etc. |

I'm not sure I like the idea of the police being involved in purely civil cases. If it were any civil case other than an immigration case, would you want the police involved? |

Local law enforcement does not actively cooperate with ICE, which they should. There's that case from Wisconsin where a judge actively interfered with ICE. |

Local law enforcement does not actively cooperate with ICE, which they should. The latter phrase is a matter of opinion. It is not mandated by the law, and there are strong arguments in support of the opposite opinion. I know about the judge in Wisconsin. She does not make a pattern. |

But it interferes imo which is the word that you questioned. If the US wants to deport foreign nationals without legal status that commit crimes and local governments refuse to cooperate that directly leads to the shenanigans that have been happening. People being detained on the street, dropping their kids off at school, inside of courthouses, etc. That's likely a big part of why that stuff is primarily happening in sanctuary cities. |
