But it interferes imo which is the word that you questioned.

If the US wants to deport foreign nationals without legal status that commit crimes and local governments refuse to cooperate that directly leads to the shenanigans that have been happening. People being detained on the street, dropping their kids off at school, inside of courthouses, etc. That's likely a big part of why that stuff is primarily happening in sanctuary cities.
