Crown jewels stolen from The French Louvre

Posted by Orange Blossom Special on Wed Oct 29 15:02:19 2025

They should make movies about this one. A few rapefugees who was living in a police-free no-go zone of Paris, aka an ISIS enclave.

=====

According to the reports, the two men, both in their 30s, are residents of Saint-Denis*, a Paris suburb known for its poorer and more crime-ridden neighborhoods. Police say both are known to law enforcement from previous burglaries. Earlier Sunday it was revealed that one suspect had been arrested at Charles de Gaulle Airport while attempting to flee to Algeria; later, it emerged that the second suspect was also planning to escape to Africa and was arrested at his home in Saint-Denis hours later as he prepared to fly to Mali.

===

*historically this is what the neighborhood and people are known for: "French police conducted a raid in Saint-Denis, on the northern edge of Paris, where operatives of the jihadist enemy were holed up in an apartment. In the ensuing shootout involving several jihadists, Kalashnikovs were fired at police who stormed the hideaway. A woman detonated an explosive suicide vest. Several police were wounded; the woman and a male terrorist were killed."

LOL no-go zone. I've walked from the St. Denis Metro station to the Abbey and didn't feel the slightest bit unsafe.

lo@lm! No graffiti like NYC of the 80's?

Paris is well-known for it's graffiti covered dirty streets these days. Not as bad a Rome, but bad.

Graffiti is a big part of the culture in Europe. This lady does it in broad daylight because she is afraid of going out at night. Seriously.

In reality if she went out at night dressed like this in Paris, well, you know what would happen.......I won't say.

It reminds me of a joke about a jewel robbery from The Louvre in which the thief was caught almost immediately. It seems that the thief’s van stalled a few blocks away from the museum and the gendarmes caught up with him rather quickly. Recognizing him to be one of the prime jewel thieves in the country, the officer asked how the thief could have placed himself in a position to be caught so easily. The thief replied “ I did not have enough Monet to buy Degas to make the Van Gogh.” Now if you wonder why I had De Gaulle to tell such a bad joke, it’s because I felt I had nothing Toulouse!
