Those fears were unfounded. But the fear of iSlam is legitimate.

In Dearabad, MI, a Christian minister spoke out at a public hearing against naming a street for an actual terrorist, and the mayor called him "Islamophobic" and said that he would throw a parade when the man left town.

Hundreds upon hundreds of rabbis sign letter opposing Mamdani

Posted by Olog-hai on Thu Oct 23 13:21:04 2025, in response to Mandamni's NYC will be perfection itself, posted by Orange Blossom Special on Mon Oct 20 14:52:13 2025.

JewishMajority.org

A Rabbinic Call to Action: Defending the Jewish Future

As rabbis from across the United States committed to the security and prosperity of the Jewish people, we are writing in our personal capacities to declare that we cannot remain silent in the face of rising anti-Zionism and its political normalization throughout our nation.

When public figures like New York mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani refuse to condemn violent slogans, deny Israel’s legitimacy, and accuse the Jewish state of genocide, they, in the words of New York Board of Rabbis president Rabbi Ammiel Hirsch, “Delegitimize the Jewish community and encourage and exacerbate hostility toward Judaism and Jews.”

As prominent New York City Rabbi Elliot Cosgrove stated in a recent sermon, “Zionism, Israel, Jewish self-determination—these are not political preferences or partisan talking points. They are constituent building blocks and inseparable strands of my Jewish identity. To accept me as a Jew but to ask me to check my concern for the people and state of Israel at the door is a nonsensical proposition and an offensive one, no different than asking me to reject God, Torah, mitzvot, or any other pillar of my faith.”

We will not accept a culture that treats Jewish self-determination as a negotiable ideal or Jewish inclusion as something to be “granted.” The safety and dignity of Jews in every city depend on rejecting that false choice.

Therefore, we call on all Americans who value peace and equality to participate fully in the democratic process in order to stand up for candidates who reject antisemitic and anti-Zionist rhetoric, and who affirm Israel’s right to exist in peace and security.

We also call on our interfaith and communal partners to stand with the Jewish community in rejecting this dangerous rhetoric and to affirm the rights of Jews to live securely and with dignity.

Now is the time for everyone to unite across political and moral divides, and to reject the language that seeks to delegitimize our Jewish identity and our community.

Thanks for posting this.

Every year, AlM links to election results from the NYT, which shows how each voting district in NYC votes.

We will be able to see how Midwood and Rego Park vote. How Staten Italia votes. How hipster Bushwick and East Williamsburg vote. Or that section of the west side of Manhattan with the lowest amount of kids votes.

From this we will be able to see how people vote along ethnic lines.

Knicks hit Mamdani with cease-and-desist over use of logo in campaign ad

They also made it clear that they do not endorse him.

NY Poast

NY Knicks issue Zohran Mamdani ‘cease and desist’ over campaign ad — stressing they ‘do not endorse’ him

The New York Knicks issued mayoral front-runner Zohran Mamdani a “cease and desist” letter for using its iconic logo in a campaign advertisement — and stressed that the team does not endorse the socialist Democratic nominee.

The lefty pol pulled the ad on Friday following The Post’s reporting on the team’s letter, which stated that the promo was “likely to mislead the public into believing that the Campaign is affiliated with, sponsored or endorsed by, or in some way connected with the Knicks.”

The ad aired during the NBA team’s season opener Wednesday night and featured an altered New York Knicks orange and blue logo that replaced the word “Knicks” with “Zohran.”

It was also blasted out widely across his campaign’s social media platforms with the caption “This is our year. This is our time.”

Those online ads were all removed as of Friday afternoon.

The team, in the letter obtained by The Post, demanded that Mamdani’s team remove all of the Knicks’ intellectual property from campaign or promotional material.

“The NY Knicks have sent NYC Mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani a cease-and-desist letter for using the NY Knicks logo to promote his candidacy,” a team spokesperson told The Post.

“The Knicks want to make it clear that we do not endorse Mr. Mamdani for Mayor, and we object to his use of our copyrighted logo. We will pursue all legal remedies to enforce our rights.”

Calls to the Mamdani campaign were not returned.

Billionaire Knicks owner James Dolan has not weighed in publicly in the mayoral race but hasn’t shied away from dipping his toes into the politics game.

The Madison Square Garden CEO revealed recently he was secretly backing independent candidate Diana Florence’s bid for Manhattan district attorney in a bid to oust lefty prosecutor Alvin Bragg.

House GOPers look for DOJ to investigate Mamdani’s citizenship, possibly denaturalize and deport

Posted by Olog-hai on Sat Oct 25 13:35:55 2025, in response to Mandamni's NYC will be perfection itself, posted by Orange Blossom Special on Mon Oct 20 14:52:13 2025.

NY Poast

House Republicans want to strip Zohran Mamdani of citizenship, possibly deport NYC mayoral frontrunner over form omissions

The first immigration case NYC mayoral frontrunner Zohran Mamdani may have to confront if elected could be his own — as two House Republicans push the Justice Department to probe his path to citizenship and possibly boot him from the US.

Rep. Randy Fine (R-Fla.) last week demanded the feds “review every naturalization of the past 30 years — starting with Mamdani.”

“I just think we need to take a hard look at how these folks became citizens, and if there is any fraud or any violation of the rules we need to denaturalize and deport,” Fine told the Post.

He also called for a probe of anti-Israel “Squad” member Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.), who was born in Somalia and is one of the first two women Muslims to serve in Congress.

Mamdani is a threat to the nation, he continued. “I know that there’s a lot of us that are very, very concerned about the enemy within — people who have come to this country to become citizens, to destroy it.”

He dismissed logistical concerns about yanking the citizenship of naturalized Americans after they got elected to top jobs. “If they’re not Americans, they can’t be in office,” he said.

Since June, his colleague Rep. Andy Ogles (R-Tenn.) has pushed for a Justice Department probe of Mamdani, saying the socialist who is leading NYC mayoral polls lied on his sworn statement when he became a naturalized citizen in 2018.

Ogles issued a call to “Deport Mamdani!” and branded him an “antisemitic, socialist, communist who will destroy the great City of New York.”

“In 2018 when he was naturalized, he failed to disclose some of the things that he had been doing, one of which was joining the [Democratic] Socialists of America. That’s a communist organization which, quite frankly, at that time, would have disqualified him from becoming a United States citizen,” Ogles told Newsmax.

He also cited Mamdani’s statements calling to free “the Holy Land Five” — a quintet of Palestinian-Americans who led the giant Muslim charity Holy Land Foundation for Relief and Development and who were convicted in 2008 of funneling millions of dollars to Hamas.

US immigration law declares inadmissible those who have “been a member of or affiliated with the Communist or any other totalitarian party.” The current form asks would-be citizens to disclose if they have ever been associated “in any way” with “any Communist or totalitarian party anywhere in the world.” President Trump has called Mamdani a “communist lunatic.” Mamdani specifically denies being a communist.

Rep. Shri Thanedar (D-Mich.), who represents Dearborn Heights, which contains a large Muslim population, called for Ogles to be censured over his posts.

The Justice Department wouldn’t rule out a probe of Mamdani.

“Due to the Democrats’ shutdown, congressional correspondence is delayed. The department does not comment on the status of ongoing or potential investigations,” a DOJ spokesperson told The Post.

The latest outrage over Mamdani came when he posed a cheery photo to X alongside controversial imam Siraj Wahhaj, who was named as an un-indicted co-conspirator to the 1993 World Trade Center bombing that killed six.

Mamdani did not return a request for comment.

Trump is too deep into cognitive decline to be the actual dictator. His influence on the course of this Presidency is down to the whims he feels like spouting off about, like getting back at Doug Ford for his horrible put-downs, and having Bondi get back at Jack Smith.

My guess is that Sliwa very seriously dislikes BOTH Cuomo and Mamdani. I'm thinking he probably does not consider Cuomo "the lesser of two evils" sufficiently to consider dropping out.

And why should he drop out? Does his name get removed from the ballot? Does his voters magically change or just vanish from the earth?

I also wonder what happens to a candidate who drops out, if they win. I'd like to see this one day.

I'm sure Sliwa knows Cuomo better than Mamdani. But at least with Cuomo, you know what you'll be getting. Lots of questions remain about Mamdani concerning which direction he will take the city. We're sure gonna find out. But NYC is resilient. After all it survived 8 years of DeBlasio. Whatever happens, NYC will survive one way or another.

lol, tf is this? You don't know what he is going to do? How much more predictable should it be?

London, Paris, and Malmo "survived" too. If you only care about the city in name only. Not it's people, culture, or institutions.

Yes, and that's the problem with Cuomo.
