Most of Manhattan is so high that even if all the ice in Greenland melted, they'd still be showing.Superstorm Sandy wasn't that long ago. A little bit of Manhattan is filled in land. The most recent being Battery Park City, which is built on what was excavated for the Twin Towers. Superstorm Sandy's flood reach essentially covered what had been filled in over a span of 400 years. I don't know much about wind, except they have turbines now so big one can power an entire village, but you can power the entire nation on a few square miles of solar in the middle of the country.We have batteries powering cities and islands today with capacities that you cannot imagine. tl;dr, solar can power ny 24/7 with no outages. |
