Unfortunately there were women denied a place on the swim team because Lea Thomas took a spot meant for wonen. No remedy for them has been cited.

When I was younger, we sometimes played softball on a kiddie field because there was nothing else available. Because all of us were strong enough to hit home runs over the fence, we instituted a rule that anything over the fence was out. This made the game more competitive because it eliminated the threat of brute strength. Obviously trans women are physically men, and they retain the physical strength of men. How about we create a rule that trans women cannot finish higher than second? This would give real women a true possibility of winning. Or, we could give true women a half-lap head start, kind of like when women golfers hit off the "women's tee", which is closer to the hole than the men's tee.

But in our society, where muscular men with facial hair and male plumbing insist that they are women and where a liberal media backs them up, its not that easy.

Transwomen can either compete against men, or they can have their own competition. They ban hormone supplements in other contexts (they’re called “steroids”), but if you have “dysphoria,” it’s A-OK. So empowering!

I see that as very different. That said, I will call people by whatever name they ask me to call them, within reason. So I have no problem calling her "her" and her "Lia". I still don't think that she should compete against women though.

I will point out that I don’t buy into so-called “gender ideology.” Gender is a grammatical term and English has three genders. Lia Thomas is a male by sex, but this has little if anything to do with language.

So I was bringing up another context. Worse than Hegseth or Tulsi Garbage. I agree. RFK has successfully staffed the whole department with disastrous flunkies. Hegseth hasn't been as successful doing that, and he also has to deal with a reasonably competent and honest Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. And Gabbard actually seems to be trying to do the job she was appointed to. Sure, she'll change her story on a dime when Trump tells her to. But I don't think she's deliberately concocting fake information, which is a relief based on her prior record.

They have allowed me to breathe but as I get older I am facing bone density and dental issues.
