Back to 6 GOP in the Council

Probably won't see much about this but the City Council now back to 6 Republicans as Frank Morano won the special election on Staten Island with more than 59% of the vote surpassing the necessary threshold, no need for rank choice in this election. Hagen the democrat came in second with 20.79% of the vote.

The 51st Council District established in 1990 had a special election to replace seat vacated in end of January by Joe Borelli.

Are the other GOP members as batshit as my councilwoman, Inna Vernikov? She was arrested a couple of years ago for openly carrying a firearm at a protest at Brooklyn College. I'd estimate her social media posts are 80% about Israel and Ukraine and 20% local issues.
