She was killed while burglarizing the U.S. Capital Bldg and the shooting was totally justified. That being said I feel it is a shame she had to die, especially for a ridiculous cause. No cop wants to kill someone, at least no sane cop and I'm sure Officer Byrd feels awful about it to this day. I do not like the fact that you are slandering him. I also commend the Capital Police for their restraint at the fact no other person was killed there that day.

An angry mob had just smashed the door leading to the room where the cop was. And just behind the cop in the next room were a bunch of unarmed members of Congress. And then she stepped through the broken door. Translate all this to a private house, with the homeowner protecting his family, and it would be an almost identical situation.

They had a makeshift battering ram that demolished the reinforced glass panel in the locked door between them and the cop. If you see the video of the damage that object did to the door, you can see it could easily have been deadly if used against the cop.
