She wasn't just burglarizing. An angry mob had just smashed the door leading to the room where the cop was. And just behind the cop in the next room were a bunch of unarmed members of Congress.

And then she stepped through the broken door.

Translate all this to a private house, with the homeowner protecting his family, and it would be an almost identical situation.
