Gaetz cuts deal with Dems, to get rid of McCarthy?

Posted by Edwards! on Sat Sep 30 08:17:38 2023

It's gotten so bad now, that Matt Gaetz actually turned to some Representatives and Senate members, on the other side of the aisle, to remove the House Speaker.

"He is not in compliance with the rules set forth when he was given the job, so he leaves us little choice".

I believe Gaetz doesn't want the Speaker job, but he does have designs for a future governorship, and maybe a presidential run.

McCarthy is a weakness the Maga republicans don't need..

Come on. Give "stolen Valor Dick" a break. It was just a slip of the tongue when he claimed to have served in VietNam. What he meant to say was that he served in the marine reserves during the time of the Vietnam War. As everyone should know, enlisting in the marine reserves guaranteed that he would not be deployed to Vietnam.

That assumes that he intended to do that.

And it’s exactly what happened on January 6! The Trump Party loves to downplay that, and this will just play into their hands, that those rioters were just “peaceful protesters.”
