My go-to in Starbucks when I just want no-frills coffee is "Tall Dark Roast."If you want to avoid strange looks, definitely use their vocabulary for the size ("Tall, Grande. . .") and roast/blend. I don't think it's as uncommon as it may seem for someone to just want coffee and not one of the specialty products. But they may roll their eyes if you just ask "Can I get black coffee?" Side note: Dark Roast is often offered on the displays but very often they tell you it's not available. |

Along these lines, I used to look forward to flavored Coffee mate creamers, especially Hazelnut, up to about 10 years ago. I used to store it in refrigerators even at work.Now however I don't want anything in my coffee, which is usually French press. I could barely imagine going through the motions of making French press only to then "corrupt" it with some outside flavor. When my coffee was made by someone else, such as in a diner/restaurant, and isn't that great, In that case I'll add half-and-half. But even then I'm not looking for sweet flavors like French Vanilla or Hazelnut, anymore. And that's all strictly the evolution of my taste - nothing to do with health. |

I drink a cup of coffee every night just before going to bed, and except getting up a few times to pee, I don't remember the last time I've had insomnia or any sleep problems. I do drink decaffeinated soda but not because it's decaffeinated, it's just that my favorite soda is Sprite Zero and would drink it even if it had caffeine. |

I basically only drink Folgers Instant and Nescafe Bold Instant because I like the taste and instant is much cheaper in the long run but we do have a Kerig machine and lately I've been buying Bustelo for Kerig and occasionally make it as a treat. It IS really good!! |

Back in 1995 my sons and I went to Costa Rica.They serve their coffee with Hot milk. It was novel to me, but okay, my sons being non coffee drinkers at that time, enjoyed it.
