Halloween Explanation Needed
Posted by Train Dude on Wed Oct 13 22:36:32 2021 First of all, I hate Halloween. Strangers ringing my doorbell well into the evening to extort candy is annoying. Toilet paper and shaving cream on cars. Eggs on houses. It's a shit holiday but kids love it. So now one school in Seattle has decided to ban halloween. Not because it's anti Dental Health. Not because of the mischief it brings but because "IT MARGINALIZES BLACK CHILDREN" Can someone explain how?

From the NY Post "A Seattle elementary school canceled its annual Halloween parade this year, saying it “marginalizes students of color who do not celebrate the holiday.” https://nypost.com/2021/10/13/seattle-school-cancels-halloween-parade-because-it-marginalizes-students-of-color/amp/ Other news sources said basically the same thing, that students of color don't celebrate. I never heard anything so ridiculous before.
