You think the government and the media are competent communicators?

Also, the limiting factor to vaccinations is still supply. You may see heavier communications campaigns once there are shots available and no takers for them, which has been projected for May.

Maybe that will spur Republicans: get vaccinated or we'll send your doses to Mexico. :)

It's still regional, we just started no appointment walk ups at loads of NYC sites, and many NYS sites are loaded with available appointments. Supply has caught up here, even with the hold on J&J. The lack of J&J has put a crimp on the door to door for homebound program though.

Aqueduct has shots available, Javits doesn't. So we seem to be just at the edge of a glut but not fully there yet.

So who's still dying? I'm not really understanding it and not finding enlightenment readily anywhere.

If there is a glut, I sure hope they send the spares to Canada. I'd like to visit there in late summer, and for that they have to reopen the border.

The NYS site lists Javits as available for Pfizer but not J&J, and quite a few other sites including York and Medgar Evers as available in addition to Aqueduct, but of course these change moment to moment.

They refresh NYS constantly. time and date in lower left of page. But Javits has 2 listings, one for Pfizer one for Janssen/J&J J&J is locked out for now. Also, lots of slots at NYC sites on their website.

Javits Aqueduct and York (the ones I watch for friends)have slots as soon as tomw, I ran some test bookings, Javits shows yes, but showed nothing the first time I clicked it, refreshed and it shows a good number this week...lots of decent sites run by NYC also - They dodged a bullet at the Modell's site which opened this week at Queens Center Mall, it was going to be J&J, they pivoted very quickly and I believe it is now Moderna.

"...potencial carjackers in Lawless NY State."

One of the advantages of owing a stick shift transmission car, if they still make them that is. Over the years when stick shift cars were carjacked, the scumbag would get one block away, if that, before stalling out & running away like hell on foot. Presto! You get your car back.

One of the best strategies to combat this is to not need an air freshener in the car in the first place.
If the motorist bathes on a frequent and consistent basis, the need for an air freshener is reduced by 97.493% according to a recent study.

Never heard it called anything other than "damned gearshift lever."

What I really hated (this was a Chrysler of some kind) is that you couldn't shift into first gear when moving. That made traffic jams a huge pain, and I once stalled out on a 25 percent gradient because it couldn't handle the hill in second and I couldn't shift it to first.

In a gasoline powered car, you can use low gear to tell the car to use the engine to help with braking.

In a Tesla going down a hill, is there a way to tell it whether you want gravity to speed up the car or else to convert that gravitational energy into battery charging? I'm guessing the brake pedal does that.

The brake pedal is actually unnecessary, the regenerative braking (like dynamic braking on an electric train) kicks in when you let go of the gas pedal and the car will eventually stop entirely. The brake pedal just stops the car faster using the (conventional) friction brake. Brakeless driving is recommended to extend the life of the brakes and save energy.
