Casinos are open, restaurants are open, baseball stadiums, pool rooms, movie theaters are all open, albeit not 100% capacity. Racing has very little crowds these days and racetracks are very spacious. |

It was at Belmont. There was racing in New York, just no crowds, the racetracks weren't open to the public. As a matter of fact, people getting their vaccines at Aqueduct can watch the races during their 15 minute waiting period if a race is going on. |

I know.There used to be a lot more tracks in the city or what later became the city. Jamaica Racetrack was the second to last one (Aqueduct being the last). If you add Nassau and Suffolk, I remember Roosevelt as a kid, and Parr Meadows in Yaphank/Shirley.My dad like horse racing, so as a kid I went to them a few time Roosevelt was harness Racing, and Parr Meadows was Quarter horse. They are currently redeveloping the Par Meadows site, it has been closed since the 90s. Roosevelt as we all know was redeveloped in the 90s Horse racing is slowly dying. It's a relic from a time when it was the only legal gambling. Now there are casinos everywhere, lottery,cans so forth. |
