North Dakota Uses Covid Funds to Subsidize Fracking |

They have gone from 8 cases per 100K to 102 cases per 100K, since July 10th. One reason for this increase is that it does not have enough contact tracers to identify and isolate new cases before they spread among the community. They have only 13% of the necessary required contact tracers.They could have used the Covid money that Congress appropriated to hire these contact tracers. My state wanted to build a new courthouse with their covid windfall last spring.But where are they getting these contact tracer percentages? I doubt most states have more than 1 person if even. |

But where are they getting these contact tracer percentages?From the link: With 781 new daily cases on average, North Dakota needs an estimated 3,905 contact tracers on staff to trace each new case to a known case within 48 hours of detection. Per our best available data, North Dakota has 500 contact tracers, fulfilling 13% of this staffing requirement. With insufficient contact tracing staff, North Dakota is unlikely to be able to successfully identify and isolate sources of disease spread fast enough to prevent new outbreaks That comes to 5 tracers for each new case. |
