Posted by Easy on Wed Sep 16 14:36:20 2020 Stolen from OBS' news feedAlmost two-thirds of young American adults do not know that 6 million Jews were killed during the Holocaust, and more than one in 10 believe Jews caused the Holocaust, a new survey has found, revealing shocking levels of ignorance about the greatest crime of the 20th century. According to the study of millennial and Gen Z adults aged between 18 and 39, almost half (48%) could not name a single concentration camp or ghetto established during the second world war. Almost a quarter of respondents (23%) said they believed the Holocaust was a myth, or had been exaggerated, or they weren’t sure. One in eight (12%) said they had definitely not heard, or didn’t think they had heard, about the Holocaust. |

When I see these articles, I just think how we follow Europes slope into darkness every time. Why must the US always follow? Now that we see the fights over closing and reopening schools go on. I feel I'm in a better position to say, "keep 'em closed". Save the money. They're not teaching anything but "woke" culture. Second, wtf. So when they put on the netflix, or watch old Mel Gibson movies, people are so toked up on the drugs that they don't even know what's going to on to even question the jokes? Yeah, I can see that, I see people outside. I'm training myself not to talk to people. Almost everyone I come across nowadays have a vacant stare. It's like idiocracy out there. |

This seems very hard to believe, since Holocaust memorials and commemorations are everywhere. Who actually conducted the survey? The linked article says that the Conference on Jewish Material Claims Against Germany "commissioned" and "set up a task force to oversee" the survey, but does not name any actual polling organization. It says 200 people were picked at random from each state to answer, which would be 10,000 people nationwide, but it also says there were 1,000 people nationwide. We're told "Almost two-thirds of young American adults do not know that 6 million Jews were killed during the Holocaust", but also that almost two-thirds (64%) "believe Holocaust education should be compulsory in schools". How can those both be true?Teaching about the Holocaust should be a standard part of courses in world history, which in turn should be a standard part of the school curriculum. It shouldn't be separated out into a special "Holocaust Education" module. |

That said, it does seem like the basic finding of ignorance about the subject is legit. |

I learned yesterday that in DC, 23% of kids at in 8th grade (can 16 and 17 year old still go to 8th grade?) cannot read.It costs $30,000 a year to teach 77% of kids not to read. And we wonder why they're yelling about killing joos from the car windows during the peaceful protests. Defund the Teachers. |
