FedEx Field is the former Jack Kent Cooke Stadium built out in Landover in the mid-90's. The biggest issue with FedEx Field is the lack of transportation options don't make it worthwhile to renovate what is an almost 30 year old design with modern ammenities. |

Also Sofi stadium under construction in Inglewood is the only privately built stadium in the history of the NFL afaik and it’s also the biggest and baddest at over $5 billion. I can’t imagine a more expensive stadium ever being built as the NFL is circling the drain. |

Based on that article, I don’t see that the redskins are very interested in returning to DC. There may be more to it though. The whole “we might want to play at RFK stadium appears to have been in response to the stadium potentially being sold. They want to keep options open. |
