Trump isn't the first president who was adverse to reading daily briefings. Eisenhower could not digest long reports. I heard this story from Jerrold Zacharias in the early 1960's. Zacharias' interest was getting important scientific information to governement.President Truman had all the government departments prepare a few paragraphs about important infromation for that the President on a daily basis. These were then collated and placed into a 20 page report that was on Truman's desk each morning. The scientific community had a contact within the State Dept. who included any information into the report. Eisenhower hit the ceiling, when he saw that report on his desk. He wasn't much of a reader. His literary taste started and ended with trash western novels. The reports were stopped. The communications from non-government communities lost their input to the President. One result was the surprise at Sputnik's launching. |

What's funny is, WaPo (who loves their Trump Lie counter) totally undermined their credibility on that front with this article fact checking Trump's claim that the most dangerous cities in America are run by Democrats. Their own article shows that his claim was 95% correct with one statistical method and 85% correct with another. |

There are articles from former spies that such unconfirmed reports are usually included in briefings for the president to decide.So one of the following is true: 1. It wasn't included in a briefing because intelligence didn't want Trump to throw a tantrum because they were impugning his beloved Putin. 2. It was included in a briefing, but Trump doesn't remember because he's an idiot. 3. It was included in a briefing, but Trump is lying because he always lies. IMO, 1 is the most likely because apparently NATO allies were briefed. Foreign countries are better allies of the United States than its own president. So you sincerely believe that Trump does not lie significantly more frequently than any other prior president? |

That sounds very plausible and really includes 1, since they didn't want him to throw a tantrum and so they put it into a report he is obliged to read and doesn't read. All asses covered that way. |

Dude that was one they were brazen enough to post as a whole article. A lot of the ones no one looks at are "misleading but technically true" statements. They are "misleading" because WaPo editors are incapable of reading words as they are written and like to inject hidden meaning into them.This marketwatch op-ed explains WaPo's flawed methodology and provides a table of examples at the bottom. Lefty publications don't get off on reporting Biden, Obama, or Cuomo lies so AFAIK there's no corresponding tracker for them. But Cuomo had a recent whopper as well. |
